Musician, Composer, PRODUCER
Michael Sachs is a saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, and producer with a diverse body of work as both bandleader and collaborator. Marked by equal parts sensitivity, humor, and a keen sense of narrative, Michael's music delicately toes the lines between neo-classical, jazz, indie, pop, and electronic worlds.
Michael grew up in Los Angeles, and it was there that he began his musical career, studying saxophones and clarinet at the Colburn School of Music. Eventually, he made his way to Boston, where he earned a Bachelor's degree from the Berklee School of Music and a Master's degree from the New England Conservatory.
Currently residing in Brooklyn, Michael spends much of his time performing regularly with Secret Sibling, .MICHAEL., Moonheart, the Aubrey Johnson group, the Logan Strosahl Team, Hite (Julia Easterlin), and Shrove.
Michael also works as a piano technician and tunerat Little Ear Piano Repair. When he isn't busy performing in NYC and beyond, he can usually be found tuning or repairing a piano, scoring a film/commercial, or cooking something that begins with onions and garlic.
